I have the Proficlear screendrive for 5 years, and it has stopped working twice on me. One engine just does not spin anymore. It has already been replaced. Other than that it is a bit of a weird system, if we let the screendrive work as it has been designed by the good people of Oase it gets too dirty and water hardly flows through it at all, once it finally spins you see the water gushing up through the filter and going to the pump (I have a gravity setup) with this comes that the gravity system does not work well. Because of that I had to make a device that cuts the power, resetting the screendrive) so it would spin around every 5 minutes.
My question to everyone here is.
Is the two rotations per hour really enough for you?
Is there not another way to keep these filter drums clear without my constant attention.
I love how pretty the system is, but i'd rather sit and look at the fish than go down in the maintenance pit every few minutes to rotate the brushes because I can hear a pump gargeling air
